Halfback Adam Reynolds has been ruled out of South Sydney's NRL Auckland Nines campaign due to hamstring tightness.

The Rabbitohs said the star playmaker's withdrawal was a precaution, with him at risk of aggravating the injury ahead of the NRL season.

NSW representative Reynolds was set to partner fellow first-choice half Cody Walker at the tournament on February 4-5.

Reynolds joins recruit Robbie Farah, skipper Greg Inglis, Sam and George Burgess and John Sutton on the sidelines.
