Souths sign bad boy Liam Knight

South Sydney have signed controversial Canberra prop Liam Knight to a two-year NRL deal until the end of 2020.

Wayne Bennett has taken Liam Knight under his wing with South Sydney signing the controversial prop to a two-year NRL deal.

The Rabbitohs on Monday added Knight and former Newcastle outside back Corey Denniss to their roster until the end of the 2020 season.

Knight has made 10 NRL appearances after stints at Manly, Sydney Roosters and Canberra.

His career was nearly derailed after a 2016 drink-driving incident during which he sprayed Aeroguard in his mouth.

He was given an 18-month good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to high-range drink driving after blowing .176 when pulled over by police.

Souths coach Bennett is known to be a big believer in the redemptive power of rugby league and has successfully helped turn around the careers of the likes of James Roberts and Matt Lodge.

The signing of Denniss also further clouds the future of Robert Jennings, who has agreed to terms for a contract extension but his deal will not be ratified unless the Rabbitohs shed salary cap space.
