The economic crisis has left towns across Spain drowning in debt, but one town is gaining fame for its fiscal fight.

The heavily indebted town of Higuera de la Serena relies on local volunteer help to provide basic services for its inhabitants.

But in a country with 8100 municipalities, some are calling for the restructure of local governments to cut costs.
