Spearfisher injured in Qld shark attack

A spearfisher is in a serious condition after being bitten on the hands and arms by a shark off Yeppoon in central Queensland.

A man has been attacked by a shark while spearfishing off central Queensland.

The 31-year-old Rockhampton man was bitten on his hands and arms near Miall Island, off Yeppoon, just before midday on Saturday, an RACQ Capricorn Rescue Helicopter spokesman says.

He is being treated at the Rockhampton Hospital.
