Nick has farewelled his now tame bird eating spider as well as hundreds of huntsman, common black house spiders and red backs, most of whom lived under his bed for his 22 day adventure.

Nick has broken his own record of living with deadly spiders, set 30 years ago and has become a worldwide star, featured in news stories across the globe.

Mr Le Souef says his greatest concern was not the spiders.

"There is a phenomena I had heard of and now I've experienced it - cabin fever," he said.

"Being confined in such a tiny little space was the real issue and it's just nice to be out of there."

Nick's spine chilling endurance test has raised over $16,000 for Variety the children's charity to assist Victorian children.
