TENNIS - Australian wildcard Jordan Thompson has stormed into the second round of a grand slam for the first time with an impressive straight sets victory over Serbian qualifier Laslo Djere at the French Open.

Polish second seed Agnieszka Radwanska has dispatched Serbian Bojana Jovanovski 6-0 6-2, while defending champion Stan Wawrinka has managed to avoid an ignominious exit, scrambling past Czech Lukas Rosol in five sets.
