GOLF - World No.1 Jason Day has joined the exodus of top level golfers by pulling out of the Rio Olympic Games due to concerns over the Zika virus. Shane Lowry of Ireland has also pulled out due to worries about Zika.

TENNIS - Nick Kyrgios has opened his Wimbledon campaign with a four-set win over crafty Czech Radek Stepanek, but rain has halted Bernard Tomic's opener. Kyrgios is promising fans "a circus" when he next takes on German showman Dustin Brown for a place in the last 32 at Wimbledon on Thursday.

TENNIS - Dubbed 'the female Lleyton Hewitt' during her dream Australian Open run this year, Daria Gavrilova has promised to ramp up the aggression for her Wimbledon second-round showdown with Dominika Cibulkova, after a gutsy 2-6 6-3 6-4 comeback first-round win over China's Wang Qiang.
