OLYMPICS - Between 272 and 280 Russians are believed to have been deemed eligible to compete at the Rio Olympics. The International Olympic Committee has finally determined how many Russians have been cleared - but can't yet release the number publicly.

CRICKET - Left-arm paceman Mitchell Starc took five wickets - including his hundredth in Tests - as Australia dismissed Sri Lanka for 281 on the first day of the second Test in Galle. In reply, the tourists lost both openers to close at 2-54 at stumps.

OLYMPICS - Australian officials have spoken to FINA about the quality of water in the Rio Olympic pool. As hordes of international swimmers complete their final preparations at the venue, Dolphins assistant coach Michael Bohl has described the pool water as "cloudy", "soupy" and at risk of passing on infection.

CRICKET - Replying to the England's 297 all out, Azhar Ali's patient century lifted Pakistan to 3-257 and a dominant position on the second day of the third Test at Edgbaston.
