CRICKET - Australia are six wickets away from winning the first trans-Tasman Test, New Zealand to start day four on 4-178, with the tourists boasting a 201-run lead thanks largely to Adam Voges' masterful 239 in Wellington.

SOCCER - The race for the English Premier League title is wide open after Danny Welbeck scored in the fifth minute of injury time to lift Arsenal to a 2-1 win over ten-man Leicester City, while Tottenham rose to second thanks to a 2-1 win over Manchester City.

GOLF - South Africa's Charl Schwartzel claimed an 11th European Tour title as he cruised to an eight-shot victory at the Tshwane Open.

CRICKET - South Africa captain AB de Villiers smashed an unbeaten 101 in his 200th one-day international to lead the hosts to a five-wicket victory over England - the Proteas winning three straight games to take the series 3-2.

RUGBY LEAGUE - Jack Bird has his nose in front in the race to snare the Cronulla fullback jumper despite an indifferent display in Cronulla's 24-all NRL trial draw with Manly on Sunday.
