OLYMPICS - Just days ahead of the Olympic Games, the waterways of Rio de Janeiro have been deemed as filthy as ever, contaminated with raw human sewage, according to a study commissioned by The Associated Press. Tests indicate some 1,400 athletes are at risk of getting violently ill in water competitions and tourists also face potential health risks on the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana.
