South Africa have released first choice scrumhalf Faf de Klerk to play for his English club Sale Sharks this weekend, allowing him to miss the Test against Scotland at Murrayfield, officials have confirmed.
De Klerk started in the No. 9 jersey against France in Paris last weekend as the Springboks won 29-26, but he missed South Africa's first November tour match against England because the encounter fell outside World Rugby's Test window.
He will play for struggling Sale away against champions Saracens in the English Premiership.
The Springboks have three other scrumhalfs available for the test against the Scots.
Ivan van Zyl started against England, while Embrose Papier was on the bench against England and France.
