It may look like a toy plane but in the air this wireless aerial surveillance platform, or WASP, could be a dangerous weapon – and you could be the target.

The device, which was shown off at a hackers convention in LA, is capable of hacking your private information, phone calls and emails.

The WASP, driven by remote control, has an antenna that can mimic a cellphone base station.

It can disrupt open WiFi signals and relay that information to someone on the ground, and can also jam 3G frequencies to launch denial-of-service attacks.

The two security experts who brought it to the conference hope the WASP will raise awareness that people should take greater responsibility for their personal information.
