Sri Lanka completed their highest successful Twenty20 run chase to convincingly beat Bangladesh by six wickets and with 20 balls to spare in Mirpur.

Soumya Sarkar's 51 got the hosts off to a fine start at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday, where captain Mahmudullah scored 43 and Mushfiqur Rahim finished on 66 not out to lift the Tigers to 193 for five.

Bangladesh's target was met by a sumptuous Sri Lanka batting display as they ended a run of eight consecutive T20 losses in style.

Danushka Gunathilaka's 30 from 15 balls helped them make a flying start while Kusal Mendis cracked 53 from only 27 deliveries to keep their charge in full flow.

Dasun Shanaka (42 from 24 balls) and Thisara Perera (39 from 18) put on an unbroken 65-run stand in exactly five overs to get the tourists over the line.
