As John Coates makes a final push for re-election as Australian Olympic Committee president, his New Zealand counterpart has been locked in to serve another four-year term.
Mike Stanley was re-elected unopposed as New Zealand Olympic Committee president on Thursday and will serve a final term that will finish in 2021.
Unlike the AOC presidency, the New Zealand role is limited to three terms.
The NZOC's annual general assembly also accepted four new sports for membership.
They are climbing, karate, surfing and roller sports, which have been included in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics program.
Stanley acknowledged the NZOC's performance in 2016. He also praised the athletes and support staff in Rio, where New Zealand collected the largest haul of medals in its Olympic history: four gold, nine silver and five bronze.
The NZOC finished the year with a financial deficit of $NZ1.151 million, which had been budgeted because of the Rio Olympics.
Net income for 2016 was $11.762m and total expenditure was $12.917m.
