Star Roo, Power forward hit by AFL MRP

The AFL's match review panel has handed out bans to North Melbourne's Ben Cunnington and Port Adelaide's Nathan Krakouer after pre-season clashes.

North Melbourne onballer Ben Cunnington is in danger of missing round one after the AFL's match review panel offered him a one-match ban.

The MRP also charged Port Adelaide's Nathan Krakouer with engaging in rough conduct against St Kilda's Sean Dempster in their pre-season clash, which could see him banned for one game too.

Cunnington will miss the Roos' season-opener against West Coast if he pleads guilty to engaging in rough conduct against Hawthorn's Taylor Duryea.

The rugged onballer's knee made contact with Duryea's head during the second quarter of North's pre-season win over the Hawks.

The MRP assessed the incident as careless conduct with medium impact to the head, which carries a two-match sanction that can be reduced to one with an early plea.

Krakouer will also risk a two-match ban if he chooses to contest his charge. He will miss the Power's round one clash against Sydney if he pleads guilty.

In the only other charge laid by the MRP, Melbourne's Jesse Hogan can accept a $1000 fine for a first offence of making contact with an umpire.
