A treasure trove of "Star Trek" memorabilia is to go under the hammer later this month, offering devotees of the science fiction show a chance to grab a piece of history.
Personal effects of late "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry are among lots put up for auction from June 24 to June 27 at the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas.
Items up for grabs include a projector used by Roddenberry at his home to screen outtakes from the "Star Trek" series as well as props and costumes from the 2009 "Star Trek" blockbuster.

All sales will benefit various charities, according to Julien's Auctions.
The company estimated the priciest item may be actor William Shatner's custom Harley Davidson motorcycle, expected to fetch up to $14,000.
Roddenberry's son, Rod, was on hand as a viewing of auction lots got under way in Las Vegas.
An only child, the "Star Trek" creator's son said he decided to sell items from his childhood home after his mother, Majel, died in early 2009. "It was a big house. I felt like I was ready to sell stuff and move on," he said.
Another prized lot is expected to be the jacket Leonard Nimoy wore when starring as his character Spock in last year's film. "That's gonna get big bucks," predicted Paul Walker, leader of a Las Vegas "Star Trek" fan club.
Alongside the "Star Trek" lots are several items of note from the late "King of Pop" Michael Jackson.
These include a custom-made couch with 24 carat gold leaf worth up to $150,000. Jackson had the furniture made especially for his planned residence in England last year during his comeback "This Is It" concerts. His death a year ago came before any of the scheduled performances.
The auction will also feature a white glove worn by Jackson during the 1984 Victory tour, one of only 40 worn by Jackson on stage during his career.
