Australian YouTube users are massive Star Wars fans, according to the list of top trending YouTube videos in Australia for 2015.

The second official teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens topped the most popular videos in Australia with nearly 72 million views.

The official trailer for the new Star Wars movie came in a close second with more than 70.3 million views.

However, perhaps unsurprisingly for any parents of toddlers, a compilation of nine Peppa Pig videos made it into the third spot with more than 65.1 million views.

The crazy plastic ball prank video by Roman Attwood took fourth place (57.5 million views) and a lip sync battle between actors Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and late night TV host Jimmy Fallon rounded out the top five (54.8 million views).

Worldwide the music video Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) by Tianne King grabbed the number one spot with more than 119.2 million views.

A Super Bowl advertisement for mobile phone game Clash of Clans featuring Liam Neeson took out second place with 88.6 million views and the Crazy Plastic Ball Prank came in third.
