Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been elevated to a career-best sixth on the International Cricket Council's Test bowler rankings.

Their captain Steve Smith is still ranked the world's best Test batsman, with vice captain David Warner seventh.

Usman Khawaja has improved to a career-best 18th spot on the rankings, two places behind Western Australia's Adam Voges, who is currently out of the Test team.

Indian offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the world's best ranked Test bowler, just ahead of his teammate Ravindra Jadeja, after both performed strongly in India's 4-0 series win against England.
