State of Origin I by the clock

Key moments from State of Origin I at Suncorp Stadium.

HIGHLIGHTS, MINUTE BY MINUTE, FROM STATE OF ORIGIN I AT SUNCORP STADIUM:

* 4th: A diving Corey Oates nearly opens the scoring for Queensland after latching onto a Cooper Cronk grubber kick but couldn't make the grounding

* 6th: The Blues go up the other end and take the lead. Andrew Fifita pops an offload for James Maloney, who runs up the middle to score and then converts his own try. NSW 6, QLD 0

* 23rd: Fifita goes off for a concussion test after copping a hit to the head from Josh McGuire. He'd made a barnstorming start to the match, with one try assist and 96 run metres

* 35th: Simply spectacular from Oates, who plucks a sensational Cronk crossfield kick out of the air to score Queensland's first try. Cameron Smith's conversion attempt misses. NSW 6, Qld 4

* 39th: Fifita comes back on and kickstarts the Blues' set before they extend their lead, with James Tedesco setting up Mitchell Pearce under the posts. NSW 12, Qld 4

* 45th: Jarryd Hayne juggles a high ball from Pearce with the Blues in a good attacking position but can't hold onto it

* 51st: Mitchell Pearce goes down heavily after a collision with Will Chambers, who catches him late with the point of his shoulder. Pearce gets to his feet but is taken straight into the rooms. Anthony Milford also goes down in the same play due to some friendly fire from Oates but stays on for a couple more minutes. Neither player returns

* 52nd: NSW grab their third try. Tedesco darts from dummy-half and somehow squeezes through four Maroons players to touch down. NSW 18, Qld 4

* 55th: The score blows out further with Fifita pouncing on a dropped ball from Justin O'Neill just metres from Queensland's line. NSW 24, Qld 4

* 60th: Another one for NSW. Hayne scores on the left side for his 10th Origin try, finishing off a lovely move from Maloney and Wade Graham. NSW 28, Qld 4

* 64th: Matt Gillett looks certain to get one back for the Maroons as he flies through a gap but is denied by a brilliant Tedesco takedown

* 71st: Queensland denied again. Aidan Guerra jumps over to score but a desperate Josh Dugan knocks the ball loose at the last possible moment

* 75th: More incredible NSW defence. Boyd Cordner produces another try-saver, wrapping up Darius Boyd this time as he stretches for the line
