Vincent Stanford has been condemned to spend the rest of his life in prison for the brutal Easter 2015 rape and murder of NSW teacher Stephanie Scott.

KEY DATES IN STEPHANIE SCOTT MURDER CASE:

April 5, 2015

* Ms Scott is last seen alive at her workplace Leeton High School about 11am

April 6

* Ms Scott is reported missing by her fiance Aaron Leeson-Woolley

April 8

* Police arrest school cleaner Vincent Stanford, 24, at his Leeton home after allegedly finding a camera with photos of a burned body

April 9

* Stanford is charged with murdering Ms Scott. On June 3, he was charged with aggravated sexual assault

April 10

* Police on dirt bikes find Ms Scott's burned remains off an isolated dirt road in the Cocoparra National Park, more than 70km from Leeton

June 10

* Vincent's twin brother Marcus Stanford is arrested in South Australia, accused of playing a role after Ms Scott's killing

June 11

* Marcus Stanford appears in Sydney's Central Local Court after being extradited from SA and charged with being an accessory after the fact to Ms Scott's murder. Police allege he helped his brother by receiving her personal items, which he then pawned

March 31, 2016

* Marcus Stanford pleads guilty to the accessory charge via video-link in Griffith Local Court

* His brother, Vincent, is committed to stand trial in the NSW Supreme Court

July 20

* Vincent Stanford pleads guilty to the murder and sexual assault of Ms Scott in the Supreme Court

October 13

* Vincent Stanford sentenced to life in prison at the Supreme Court in Griffith.
