It's likely to be one of the best covers you'll ever hear.

Stephen Hawking's rendition of Monty Python's 'The Galaxy Song' has been released with a new music video that's out of this world.

The world renowned physist became involved in the project when he agreed to appear alongside Professor Brian Cox in a video sketch played during the Monty Python reunion show.

The clip shows Hawking use his chair to knock over Cox as he trys to speak about the inaccuracies of the song.

It's shown in the new music video, as well as some behind the scenes footage of the reunion show.

The track has been released ahead of Britain's annual Record Store Day on April 18. It's a day dedicated to the promotion of independent record stores with limited singles pressed and sold by those shops.

A digital version of the song has also been made available. Adding to the fun, Monty Python and Universal Music have created an online Asteroids Game where players become Stephen Hawking and shoot lasers at the decapitated asteroid heads of the cast of Monty Python.
