Manly NRL fullback Brett Stewart has denied three charges made against him involving the sexual assualt of a 17 year-old girl, reports say.
He is defending himself against a charge of sexual intercourse without consent, and two counts of assault with an act of indecency.
Earlier, the jury was told to disregard news of misbehaving sportspeople as its considers the sex assault case.
The jury of five women and seven men was empanelled today at Sydney's Downing Centre District Court where Stewart is on trial for two counts of indecent assault and one charge of sexual intercourse without consent.
Judge Jonathan Williams told the jury not to pre-judge Mr Stewart.
"There has been a lot of publicity over recent times in relation to the behaviour of a minority of sportspersons.
"You mustn't, of course, make any prejudgment of Mr Stewart based on that."
The trial will hear from the complainant who'll give evidence by CCTV, and is expected to run for two weeks.
