Sting for Vic commuters as wasps move in

A swarm of wasps forced trains to skip a Melbourne train station adding to a woeful morning for the city's network.

A Melbourne train station has been shut down when wasps moved in following the morning rush.

Trains skipped Parkdale station on the Frankston line for about an hour on Thursday while the wasps were present, Metro Trains said in a statement.

It rounded out a bad morning for Melbourne commuters, with parts of the Craigieburn line closed due to a track fault and several trains cancelled elsewhere on the network.
