Test hopeful Marcus Stoinis has returned from an injury scare which forced him from the field midway through bowling an over against India.

The 28-year-old appeared to injure his groin after bowling 11 balls in Thursday's fourth one-day international in Bangalore.

But after receiving treatment he returned to the field, allaying fears of a serious injury.

Stoinis is in group of players fighting for the No. 6 position in this year's Ashes series, which gets under way on November 23 in Brisbane.
