Melbourne Stars allrounder Marcus Stoinis is back bowling in the nets after an ankle injury threatened to derail the start of his BBL campaign.
Stoinis rolled his right ankle during a warm-up during the drawn Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria at the MCG last week.
He was unable to bowl in the second innings, but scored a swashbuckling 85 that included six sixes to help the Warriors to a share of the points.
Stoinis looms as a key player with bat and ball and he's confident he'll be able to carry out both duties when the Stars take on Sydney Thunder in Canberra on Friday night.
"It's all good ... I started bowling a couple of days ago and I had a good bowl today out in the nets," Stoinis said on Wednesday.
"It's just a little tear in the ligament. It's pulled up pretty well.
"It's in a good spot if you're going to do one.
"I don't think it's healed, but it's something I can play with. Apparently it will take three or four weeks to heal fully.
"But it's something that as long as I'm managing it's all good."
