The 31-year-old actor has posted several tweets praising the US president as well as members of his family.

This is despite appearing to endorse his former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in a series of social media posts last year.

The former child star responded to a tweet from a Trump supporter commending Mr Trump for offering to help a terminally ill baby in Britain whose parents recently lost a court case to take him to the United States for an experimental treatment.

“This is our president”, she said.

“Stop bullying him and start trusting him”.

In another post she called President Trump, his daughter Ivanka, wife Melania and son Donald Trump Junior “kind people”.
It comes after Ms Lohan defended the president earlier this year in an interview with the Daily Mail where she said: "I think always in the public eye you’re going to be scrutinised."

This is in spite of comments he made in 2004, discussing her appearance and speculating about having sex with her.

It’s the latest in a series of political issues Ms Lohan has commented on, voicing her concern over the UK’s Brexit poll prior to the vote.

However the result appeared not to go her way, having called on 'Leave' voters to “sit together... for the love of her majesty the Queen”.
