Melbourne have locked in key components in their NRL forward pack for the coming years, re-signing Nelson Asofa-Solomona and confirming the arrival of Sam Kasiano.

Kasiano, who has long been linked with a move to the Storm from Canterbury, will join the club on a three-year deal beginning from the start of next season.

The 26-year-old former Kiwi international will be aiming to revitalise his game under Craig Bellamy's intense set up, which has also acquired veteran Queensland forward Nate Myles in recent weeks.

"We are very happy with how our pack has developed in recent seasons and signing a player of Sam's quality will only help us continue to improve as a football team," football director Frank Ponissi said.

"We were very impressed with Sam's enthusiasm and excitement to come to the Melbourne Storm and we are looking forward to welcoming Sam and his family to the club in November."

Meanwhile 21-year-old Kiwi giant Asofa-Solomona has signed a two-year extension that will keep him in Melbourne until the end of 2019.

The skilful prop has played 42 games since making his debut in 2015, and would have made his New Zealand debut this year if not for a hand injury.

"Nelson has so much potential and we are delighted he has chosen to remain with us in Melbourne," Ponissi said.

"He came here as a 17-year-old so to see him make this city his home and develop in the manner he has is a great testament to him and our coaches and staff who have worked closely with him."

The signings fellow forwards Jesse Bromwich, Dale Finucane, Felise Kaufusi and Christian Welch each re-signing with the club this year,

But starters Tohu Harris (Warriors) and Jordan McLean (North Queensland) have confirmed their departures at season's end.
