Melbourne Storm have bolstered their forward stocks with the signing of Canterbury's Dale Finucane.

The 23-year-old backrower has agreed to a three-year NRL deal with Melbourne.

He played 27 games for the Bulldogs last year, including the Canterbury's grand final loss to South Sydney.

The Bega junior links with a Storm line up including Kiwis Jesse Bromwich, Kevin Proctor and Tohu Harris.

Finucane was an ideal replacement for Bryan Norrie and had been on the club's radar for a few years, coach Craig Bellamy said.

He will train with his new teammates when they reconvene after Christmas on January 5.
