Melbourne will have Queensland prop Tim Glasby available for their preliminary final in two weeks after he escaped anu further sanctions for an apparent chicken wing tackle.

Glasby was penalised for the tackle on Eels forward Siosaia Vave but was not charged by the match review committee on Sunday.

The Maroons representative was one of several players to avoid charge from Saturday's spiteful clash.

Eels prop Daniel Alvaro escaped censure for his elbow on Glasby earlier in the second half, while teammate Manu Ma'u wasn't charged for a crusher tackle on Suliasi Vunivalu.

Glasby's let off comes after rugby league immortal Andrew Johns earlier attacked the tackle.

"Yeah, I think (he has a case to answer)," Johns told Nine's Sunday Footy Show.

"He gets the arm in a dangerous spot and then takes hold of it and twists it back.

"I hate that chicken wing, because he can't protect himself.

"He is in the mercy (of the defender).

"It's unnecessary and it's dangerous. Really dangerous."
