Melbourne skipper Cameron Smith has become the first forward in NRL history to score 2000 points in his side's 26-10 win over the Warriors.
The 33-year-old hooker picked up 10 points on Friday night in Auckland, taking him past the 2000-point milestone in his 337th NRL game.
He became just the fifth player to do so after Hazem El Masri, Andrew Johns, Jason Taylor and former Kiwis winger Daryl Halligan.
Future immortal Johnathan Thurston also pushed past the 2000-mark just hours later in North Queensland's 21-20 golden-point win over Brisbane.
"Thurston's been texting me a fair bit over the past couple of weeks, asking who's going to get there first, but I got him this time," Smith said.
"I'm very fortunate that I've played for a wonderful club for a long time and alongside some fantastic players.
"It's something that'll be very special when I decide to finish up."
Smith's Storm outclassed the Warriors in torrential Auckland rain, but it wasn't all good news for the Queensland and Australian captain.
He might have to face the judiciary after being penalised for a second-half lifting tackle.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy claimed he didn't see the incident, while Smith said he'd leave the matter to the match review committee.
"It's out of our hands," Smith said.
"I think the call came from the assistant referee, to be honest, saying the player was in a dangerous position."
Smith labelled the match against the Warriors a dogfight in horrific conditions, which cancelled out both sides' game plans.
He complimented his side's patience in the wet, grinding out a win by keeping the Warriors scoreless in the second half.
