Samantha Stosur is hopeful an untimely wrist injury won't rock her French Open plans.
Just days out from the grand slam event where she's enjoyed the most success, the world No.23 was forced to withdraw from her quarter-final with France's Caroline Garcia at the Strasbourg International where she was defending champion.
A disappointed Stosur admitted she'd been troubled by a left wrist complaint and, with the French Open beginning on Sunday evening AEST, decided the best course of action was to focus her attention on the red courts of Paris.
The latest setback continues the luckless Australian's injury woes this season, with Stosur taking an injured right wrist into the Australian Open at the start of the year.
That ended in disaster, with the US Open champion bundled out in the first round following a straight sets defeat to Czech qualifier Kristyna Pliskova.

But Stosur was confident her latest setback wouldn't cruel a second grand slam campaign in 2016.
"I should be fine for Roland Garros, just need to rest and see the doctor," she said.
Roland Garros has been a happy hunting ground for the 32-year-old, who has twice reached the semi-finals in addition to her heartbreaking defeat to Italy's Francesca Schiavone in the 2010 final.
She also brings some impressive form on clay this year.
Stosur led Australia's Fed Cup team with a stirring performance to sew up three rubbers as they downed Slovakia in the World Group II, while she looked crisp en route to the quarter-finals in Strasbourg this week before injury struck.
"I have had some pain in my left wrist for the last few days," Stosur said on Thursday.
"I tried to practice (on Wednesday) and felt a lot of discomfort and unfortunately I can't take to the court.
"It's difficult as I've rarely had to withdraw from a match in my career."
