A boycott of ice creams manufactured by Streets is over after parent company Unilever backed down on moves to terminate a collective agreement for workers at its Sydney factory.
"Streets workers have won. Unilever has agreed to withdraw the application to terminate their enterprise agreement. We stopped the 46 per cent pay cut. The boycott is officially over," The Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union posted on Twitter on Wednesday.
The union had called for the boycott of such summer favourites as Golden Gaytime, Calippo, Splice, Magnums, Cornettos and Paddle Pops, but Unilever had rejected the union's claims.
