Adelaide Strikers have made it three wins from three with a drama-charged one-run WBBL win over Melbourne Renegades at Gliderol Stadium in Adelaide.

Requiring eight off the final over, Lea Tahuhu was caught and bowled by Suzy Bates off the final ball of the match on Saturday, leaving the Renegades one run short of a tie.

Chasing the Strikers' 6-139, the Melbourne sides were unable to fully recover from a disastrous start that saw their top-order skittled before being limited to 8-138 off their 20 overs.

England international Tammy Beaumont was the mainstay of the Strikers' innings, scoring a run-a-ball 45 after the Renegades won the toss and elected to bowl.

Fellow opener Suzie Bates (24) and Megan Schutt (20 not out off 10 balls) were the only other significant contributors.

In reply, the Renegades slipped to 3-18 and then 4-38, with their run rate below five an over until the midway point of the innings.

New Zealand allrounder Amy Satterthwaite kept the Renegades in the contest with 56 off 40 balls but her dismissal and that of middle-order batter Emma Inglis (18) proved costly.

The win leaves the Adelaide side with a share of top spot, while the Renegades remain winless after two outings.
