Demand for workers in the tech sector is expected to grow by 100,000 over the next five years, a new study shows.
The Australian Computer Society's Digital Pulse Report, to be released in Canberra on Wednesday, found demand for information and communications technology workers would reach 758,700 by 2023.
By that time almost three million Australian workers will be employed in occupations that use ICT regularly as part of their jobs.
The survey found Australia's ICT workforce grew to 663,100 workers in 2017, increasing by 3.5 per cent over the year.
Exports of tech services rose by more than 60 per cent over the past five years to hit $3.2 billion in 2016-17.

And further adoption of digital technologies has the potential to add an extra $66 billion to Australia's GDP over the next five years, the report suggested.
