The World Food Program says providing aid to South Sudanese civilians is extremely challenging amid escalating violence.
The UN agency says since last Sunday, it has distributed food for 30,000 civilians sheltering in United Nations peacekeeping compounds in the capital, Juba, and Bentiu.
But the WFP says the ongoing conflict has made it difficult to reach people sheltering in other areas where there are no UN bases.
And it's raised concerns for the safety of its humanitarian workers.
WFP spokesman in Juba, George Fominyenis, gave Zara Zaher an update on the situation in South Sudan.
