Student's body found off NSW beach

The body of a Pakistani student swept off rocks at Newcastle's Nobby's Beach has been found.

The body of an international student has been found in waters off a Newcastle beach, four days after he was swept into the ocean.

Police say the body, believed to be that of missing 23-year-old Pakistani man Mohsin Awan, was discovered about one kilometre offshore at around 8am on Wednesday.

Mr Awan was standing on a rock face near Nobby's Beach with his childhood friend, Mohsin Javed, also 23, when the pair were knocked into the water by a wave.
