Students suspended over Facebook bullying

Twenty students from a Brisbane high school have been suspended for bullying a staff member on Facebook.

Education Queensland said it doesn't tolerate bullying, harassment and threatening behaviour and the students, from Springwood State High School, have been disciplined.

Southeast regional director Glen Hoppner is calling on parents to help schools crack down on inappropriate posts on social networking sites.

"Schools work closely with parents to address these issues when they arise, and to help ensure the schools' messages about inappropriate internet content are reinforced at home," Mr Hoppner said in a statement.

Education Queensland is working to bring down the site.

It comes after a teenager was suspended on Thursday from a Brisbane Catholic school over another sickening Facebook site.

The Year 12 student from Marist College at Ashgrove created a group that offers to give back missing Queensland boy Daniel Morcombe if the group attracts a million members.

Daniel was abducted at the age of 13 from the Sunshine Coast in December 2003 and is still missing.
