Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has promised coalition MPs no extra money or policy changes will be pledged at the global climate summit in Paris.

Ms Bishop told a coalition joint partyroom meeting in Canberra on Tuesday no part of the government's climate policy would change as a result of the United Nations-led meeting in December.

But she said the debate at the summit would revolve around global climate "rules and transparency".
