Sun will rise with ABCC, CFMEU predicts

The CFMEU predicts the sun will come up if the Australian Building and Construction Commission is restored but it won't stop fighting for its members.

The sun will come up even with a building industry watchdog, the construction union predicts as it warns about the impact it would have on the industry and workers.

The CFMEU has been fighting restoration of the Australian Building and Construction Commission, which is the subject of heated debate during federal parliament's last sitting week of the year.

Construction arm national secretary Dave Noonan argues the ABCC will attack worker conditions but told ABC radio on Tuesday: "The sun will come up, the union will continue to fight to represent its members."
