The Phoenix Suns have reportedly agreed to a two-year contract with Brazilian guard Leandro Barbosa to return to the NBA franchise.
The deal is for $US4 million ($A5.3 million) each year with $US500,000 ($A665,000) guaranteed for the second year, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, who spoke to AP on Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been officially announced.
It means Barbosa will receive either $US8 million ($A10.65 million) for two years or $US4.5 million ($A6 million) for 12 months if the Suns decide not to keep him the second year.
The 33-year-old Brazilian spent his first seven NBA seasons with Phoenix and was back with the Suns in 2013-14. He played a reserve role for the Golden State Warriors in the past two seasons.
He is the second player returning to the Suns after playing elsewhere. Jared Dudley has agreed to a three-year, $US30 million ($A40 million) contract.
