Suns injuries an opportunity says May

Gold Coast defender Steven May is challenging newcomers to emulate Aaron Hall and Jesse Lonergan by making the most of opportunities.

Gold Coast vice-captain Steven May is challenging fringe Suns to emulate Aaron Hall and Jesse Lonergan and become key players for the AFL club.

The Suns take on Brisbane on Saturday without defensive pair Trent McKenzie (broken nose) and Rory Thompson (ankle) and May says their replacements must take the opportunity with both hands.

Hall and Lonergan became vital parts of the Suns' first-choice lineup last season as injuries wiped out most of the club's premier midfielders.
