Gold Coast have put all the pre-draft noise out of their mind to snare South Australian duo Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine and Victorian tall Ben King inside the top six.

With live pick trading in effect at last night's draft in Melbourne, speculation was rife Adelaide and Port Adelaide would launch late bids to keep one or both of the talented youngsters in SA, but no exchange eventuated.

The question now lingers as to whether the Suns can hold onto the trio long-term due to their retention issues with interstate players, losing Gary Ablett (Geelong), Tom Lynch (Richmond) and Steven May (Melbourne) in the past two seasons.
