Gold Coast hope captain Gary Ablett will not join fellow midfielder Michael Rischitelli as a long-term AFL casualty.
Scans on Monday are expected to confirm that Rischitelli needs a knee reconstruction, putting him out of action until well into next season.
Rischitelli hurt his right knee in the first term of Saturday's QClash win over Brisbane.
He was on crutches post-match and the Suns are not confident about the prognosis.
But they are hopeful that Ablett has not done serious damage to his left shoulder.
