Swallow injured on Suns' reserves return

Gold Coast midfielder David Swallow has failed to finish a Suns' reserve match in his return to action from a serious knee injury.

Gold Coast midfielder David Swallow has injured his hamstring on his return for the Suns' reserves.

The 2014 best and fairest winner hasn't played in the AFL this season due to ongoing problems with his left knee.

Swallow picked up eight touches in the opening quarter of the Suns' reserves fixture against Aspley but failed to finish the half due to a suspected hamstring strain.

The 23-year-old played the last of his 79 AFL matches in July 2015.

Swallow's latest setback isn't believed to be too serious, but the Suns have confirmed he'll be unavailable for the club's final home match of the AFL season against Port Adelaide next Saturday.
