Champion midfielder Dane Swan has signed a new long-term deal with Collingwood, ending speculation he could join fledgling AFL franchise Greater Western Sydney next year.
Swan, 27, is now set to end his career as a one-club player, with his new deal with the Magpies to run until the end of the 2014 season.
Swan, who has won Collingwood's best and fairest award in each of the last three seasons, is expected to earn more than $700,000 per year under the new contract.
The focus will now switch to star Magpies teammates Scott Pendlebury and Dale Thomas, both of whom are out of contract at the end of 2011 and are understood to be in the sights of GWS.
