Swifts eyes full points against Adelaide

NSW Swifts captain Abbey McCulloch said her side will be content only if they take a complete set of bonus points against Adelaide Thunderbirds.

The NSW Swifts are targeting not just a win but all eight points when they host the struggling Adelaide Thunderbirds this weekend.

Despite a blowout win over Collingwood Magpies on Sunday, the Swifts earned just two bonus points.

Super Netball introduced a new rule this season with teams earning a bonus point for each quarter won on top of four competition points for a win.

McCulloch said after turning around their big loss to West Coast Fever she won't be content with anything less than maximum points against a side that has failed to win a single quarter so far this season.

"I think we'll really be gunning for eight points against the Adelaide Thunderbirds," McCulloch said.

"We had a bit of a shocker last week over in Perth so we really knuckled down this week in training and had some hard conversations."

The energetic captain wants to see her charges working from start to finish and trust in their ability with ball in hand.

"(I want us) to be fearless in the way that we're playing - every now and then we hang on to ball and we hesitate and we don't give that first pass - that's where we lose the ball," she said.

Swifts coach Briony Akle said she was happy with her young team's performance against the Magpies and expected another bog show next round.

"I'll never be complacent in terms of what that scoreline could look like and for us," Akle said.

"Being a young team is actually keeping them focused on the hard work week in, week out - that's what we did this week so it will be no different."
