Sydney Airport appoints new CEO

GE Australia head Geoff Culbert has been appointed as the new chief executive of Sydney Airport, the operator of Australia's biggest airport.

Sydney Airport has appointed GE Australia head Geoff Culbert as its new chief executive following a global search to replace the outgoing Kerrie Mather.

Mr Culbert joined GE in 2002 and held senior positions in Australia and globally, before taking over as chief executive of GE Australia and New Zealand & Papua New Guinea in 2014.

Ms Mather, who announced her departure in March after 15 years with Sydney Airport, will continue as CEO and managing director until Mr Culbert takes over which is expected to be by January 2018.
