The Kingswood Campus of the University of Western Sydney has been evacuated while police search for alleged armed robber, the ABC reports.
The man reportedly attempted to rob a woman at gunpoint in the university carpark earlier in the afternoon.
Nothing was taken in the attack, but police are searching the campus and the surrounding suburbs for the man.
UWS management evacuated students and staff just minutes after the attempted robbery in a car park about 1pm (AEDT) on Friday.
"The woman is suffering from shock and no property was taken," police said.

The bandit, said to speak with an accent, was last seen running east from the car park towards the Great Western Highway.
He is described as 170cm tall, with a medium build and was wearing a dark hoodie-style top and tight pants.
