Police are looking for an armed thief who robbed a Sydney jewellery shop on Friday.

A gun-wielding bandit has held up a jewellery shop in Sydney's inner-city.

Police said the armed man stormed into the shop in Jones Street, Ultimo, about 5pm (AEDT) on Friday.
