Sydney man found 'bound and gagged'

A man has been taken to hospital after he was found bound and gagged in a paddock in Sydney's west.

A man who was found bound and gagged in a paddock in Sydney's west is recovering in hospital.

Police were called to the area off Captain Cook Drive at Wilmot about 12.40pm on Tuesday after receiving complaints about hooning.

Officers found a blue car and skid marks on the reserve, but called paramedics when they also stumbled upon a man who had been bound and gagged.

It was initially suspected the two incidents may have been linked, but NSW Police later revealed the hooning complaint had nothing to do with the man.

The victim who'd been tied up was taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition, but mystery surrounds his ordeal.

"He's possibly drug-affected," an Ambulance NSW spokeswoman told AAP.

"There's nil significant injuries."

Local police and the dog squad attended the scene.

One resident initially thought the man was being arrested when she saw two police cars and officers from her bathroom window.

"I saw them get the silver blanket out and put it over him and then I knew something had happened," Jodie Morsillo told reporters.

"I've never seen nothing like this (in) my own backyard."

Police arrested three men over the hooning incident, who were questioned on Tuesday evening.
